BP, a nearly- $200-billion energy giant, will pay $7.2 billion for a 30% stake in all oil and gas assets of Reliance Industries (RIL), apart from the Panna Mukta Tapti fields. It could pump in another $1.8 billion in the fields if exploration goes smoothly.
