The Tehran test

On the face of it, India is facing a tough challenge squaring up its oil bill with Iran. The problem gets more complex when one realises that most options are geared towards paying up accumulated dues, while the current oil bill with Iran also continues to rise. The bottom line is that even this year supplies from Iran will be around 12 per cent of India’s total oil import.
