Thought control in Jaipur

The manner in which the Jaipur Literature Festival ended shows that the battle to protect imagination is going to be a long, difficult one. Intolerance has reached such a level that ordinary acts such as reading or buying a book, or merely attending a cultural festival, seem subversive. Bullies have become emboldened, the cunning are rewarded, writers intimidated, and an entire population infantilized.
