Air India is not India

It is welcome that the ministry of civil aviation has removed its questionable freeze on private carriers expanding operations abroad. The clampdown had been imposed almost a year ago, to somehow prop up lossmaking Air India's market share in the lucrative foreign routes. Such convoluted logic imposes huge national costs, which go well beyond the bottom lines of domestic airlines.
