Ridiculous!

The government has made a big mistake by banning cotton exports, ostensibly to curb hoarding overseas and boost supplies in the domestic market. A ban to favour yarn and textile makers would hurt farmers and deprive them of a remunerative price. Global cotton prices jumped nearly 5% on Monday after India exited the world market - US cotton futures for delivery in May rose by more than 4% and Shanghai futures went up more than 1%.
