BJP must seek economic polarisation

As elections approach, India stands as a polarised country. Caste, language, geographic (rural-urban) and, more importantly, religious polarisation are inherent part of political campaigns to create fear psychosis and win votes. The first-past-the-post electoral system provides adequate opportunities for political parties and candidates to adopt scaremongering and divisiveness as a strategy to succeed in elections.
