Factory activity shrinks for third straight month in Oct

Indian factories cut production in October with overall manufacturing activity contracting for the third straight month as order books shrank at a quicker pace, a survey showed on Friday. Another grim Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) suggests the slowdown in Asia's third-largest economy is becoming entrenched despite some mark up in overseas demand which prompted firms to hire more workers.
