Rajan: Too much cynicism has slowed decision making

In a hard-hitting speech Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan said on Friday that there is too much cynicism now "about what India can do". Rajan told the Indian banking industry on Friday that this "cynicism does not just permeate the foreign press but also greets every policy with suspicion". "Consequently, with no upside to making decisions, it is no wonder that decision making has slowed," he said.
