Selja nomination takes party by surprise, seen as a snub to Haryana CM Hooda

Four-time Lok Sabha member Kumari Selja, who has been nominated for the Rajya Sabha election from her State, Haryana, resigned on Monday night from the Union Council of Ministers to work for the Congress organisation. She had held the Social Justice and Empowerment portfolio since October 2012.
