Patel defends Modi, BJP just not impressed

The Congress party was subjected to a shocker of sorts on Wednesday after long-term ally NCP appeared to defend its bete noire Narendra Modi by suggesting that the BJP's prime ministerial candidate had got a legal clean chit for the 2002 Gujarat riots and the matter should rest. Reacting to Congress V-P Rahul Gandhi's comments on the Gujarat riots in a Times NOW interview earlier this week, NCP leader and Union Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel indirectly defended Modi.
