Top newspapers quit IRS in protest

The umbrella association of the Indian newspaper industry, The Indian Newspaper Society (INS), has rejected the findings of the newly published Indian Readership Survey 2013 and several of its members have sent letters on Tuesday withdrawing from the IRS. The extreme step has been taken after the Media Research Users Council (MRUC) refused to withdraw its report as requested by INS. The executive committee of the INS had unanimously rejected the findings of IRS 2013 on Monday and urged the MRUC to withdraw it forthwith.
