A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court directed NTPC Ltd to not stop supplying power to Delhi, averting an almost inevitable blackout. Two of the three distribution companies in Delhi—BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd—are arguing with the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) and the Delhi government about dues that exceed Rs.15,000 crore.
