Lock Sabha, Rage Sabha

It's fine - up to a point - for our representatives to work themselves up into frenzies of rage while in Parliament. But if in the process they put a lock on proceedings in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, that militates against democracy. Back when the Indian republic was in its infancy in the 1950s, Lok Sabha met for 127 days a year on average. That number has come down to 71 for the just concluded 15th Lok Sabha.
