The sub-quota of 4.5% for minorities is a sinister move

The Congress-led ruling coalition’s decision to set aside 4.5 per cent of the 27 per cent Other Backward Classes quota in Union Government jobs and educational institutions for minorities — read Muslims — carries forward its myopic politics of appeasing select vote-banks as much as the colonial doctrine of divide and rule.
