Batla House encounter genuine, case not to be reopened: P Chidambaram
Union home minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday broke off from the grievance hustlers within the Congress to defend the Batla House police encounter of 2008. Chidambaram, who rejected Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh's claim that the encounter at Batla House was "fake", insisted that the police action was genuine. "I respect Digvijaya's views. But whichever authority has probed the encounter says it was genuine. There is no scope for reopening the matter," Chidambaram told reporters here.
