Cong distances from Khurshid, Digvijay

Faced with the ire of the Election Commission and sensing electoral backlash in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress has distanced itself from Law Minister Salman Khurshid’s promise of nine per cent minority sub-quota. The party has also backed the Government stand on the Batla House encounter and claimed that its general secretary Digvijay Singh’s assertion of the “fake shootout” was his personal view.
