Rajiv Awas Yojana: Not quite a ray of hope

The Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) was launched in December 2005, for seven years. It is easy to get lost in the maze of alphabet soup. Within JNNURM, we have urban infrastructure and governance (UIG), basic services to urban poor (BSUP), urban infrastructure and development scheme for small and medium towns (UIDSSMT) and integrated housing and slum development programme (IHSDP).
