Vodafone vindicated

The government’s recent position of linking the Vodafone tax case with that of its anti-black money measures received a setback on Friday with the Supreme Court judgment. The connection was always nebulous but caught in the general clamour to equate several tax disputes as anti-avoidance measures, the finance ministry had also tarred this case as one of the many.
