NGOs’ foreign aid: 31,000cr in four years

Government said in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that more than Rs 31,000 crore has been received as foreign contribution by 65,500 Indian NGOs from 2007 to 2010 even as a demand was raised by members in the Upper House that the Centre should put in place a strong surveillance network to monitor inflow of foreign funds to such organizations , besides creating a database in the interest of national security.
