Don’t roll back fare hike, will revolt, warn rly unions

While Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee may have succeeded in getting Dinesh Trivedi to quit as Union Railways Minister, the Indian Railways now faces the risk of a strong agitation piloted by two of its biggest unions — both of which command a combined membership of 14-lakh employees — if the proposal to hike fares is rolled back.
