Politics over the execution of Balwant Singh Rajoana intensified on Tuesday, with the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP government expressing inability to carry out a Chandigarh sessions court's order to hang him. But even as the government pandered to extremist elements in the Sikh community, Rajoana issued a letter from prison condemning the Punjab government and Akal Takht for 'betraying' Sikhs. Rajoana was an associate of the suicide bomber who killed Punjab chief minister Beant Singh.
