Sensex among world’s top losers, sheds 10% in FY 2011-12

Bulls staged a spirited rally on Friday, the last trading session of the financial year 2011-12, taking the Sensex 346 points higher to 17,404.20. However, it was not enough to make up for the losses they suffered in the fiscal, plagued by a dip in growth, inflation, high interest rates, 2G scam and the freeze in the reform process. The benchmark Sensex declined 2,041 points, or 10.49 per cent, in 2011-12, making it one of the top losers in the world.
