Just at the time when the UPA government is avowedly chasing the tax pie from even rents paid on housing, politicians with money to spare have bought themselves a tax shelter by claiming to soothe the stock markets. It happened last week when finance minister Pranab Mukherjee stepped in to declare that Participatory Notes (P-Notes) will not be taxed.
