Will complain against Army, says Himachal CM

The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr P.K. Dhumal's ongoing turf war with the Army has reached the Centre's court. Mr Dhumal said that he will raise his complaints against the Army at the meeting of chief ministers to be held here on Monday. The Western Command of the Army had criticised the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh for staking a claim to the Annandale Ground in Shimla. The ground is under the Army's possession at present. The State government wanted to build a cricket stadium on it. The Western Command said in a statement on Saturday that rather than initiating measures to bring additional area under forest cover, the State is trying to destroy forest cover at the behest of “the land mafia”.
