FDI saves day for India Inc as rates bite
India Inc has managed to see a marginal increase in fund flow, thanks mainly to foreign investors, who made up for shrinking bank credit in 2011-12 amid a series of interest rate hikes by the Reserve Bank of India. Already, industry is complaining of dwindling investments as a result of higher cost of credit. In addition, a large government borrowing programme is elbowing companies out of the financial market.
