Have CD pointing to Army Chief ‘role’ in phonetaps, Tejinder Singh tells SC
The controversy over the Army allegedly deploying off-the-air interception equipment in the capital (as reported in The Indian Express, March 4, 2012) has erupted again with the former chief of the Defence Intelligence Agency, Lt General (retd) Tejinder Singh going to the Supreme Court with a petition asking for a CBI probe, and claiming that he is ready to hand over recorded conversations which, he claims, are evidence of this “grave illegal activity’’. Lt Gen. Singh is facing allegations of bribery by Army Chief General V K Singh in the Tatra truck case.
