The forthcoming byelections has brought to the fore fissures and discontent in the Telangana movement. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the BJP, allies in demanding a separate state, are now at each other’s throats, with the TRS trying to keep control over the statehood movement while the BJP is trying to wrest it and is emerging as the new champion of the Telangana cause.
