Open up

Mumbai is crowded. There is not much open, common, and green space. Undeveloped land is eyed by builders and slowly eroded. But recently it was reported that since 2001, green space in the city has grown from 6 per cent to 31 per cent. How did this happen? The chief reason is that the definition of “open space” was broadened, and thus 20 sq km of area added to Greater Mumbai.
