The Centre will challenge the Andhra Pradesh high court order striking down the 4.5% sub-quota for minorities in the Supreme Court. "We will go to the Supreme Court by way of a Special Leave Petition against the Andhra Pradesh high court order," said law and minority affairs minister Salman Khurshid. The minister claimed that the high court order was not a political setback for the central government.
