A gleeful M M Mani pointed out on Sunday that the CPM politburo hasn't snubbed him in any manner. "If the politburo has said about any action against me, you ask them about it," said the Idukki district's CPM secretary. It's one thing to know that political parties are in the habit of ordering and carrying out revenge killings, but quite another to have a communist leader of considerable repute fling such dishonourable admissions with complete insouciance. Recently, Mani publicly bragged about the party's ability and skill to 'eliminate' its political opponents.
