US says India ‘lynchpin’ of rebalancing strategy

The US has termed India as a “lynchpin” in its new defence strategy to rebalance its naval force towards the Asia-Pacific, saying that it wants to increase military cooperation even as New Delhi has struck a more cautious tone, cautioning that the multilateral security architecture has to be strengthened at a “pace comfortable to all countries concerned”.
