Trial to go on, says Madras HC

His role in the 2G scam still under judicial scrutiny, Home Minister P Chidambaram faced a major setback on Thursday when the Madras High Court declined to dismiss a petition challenging his controversial election to the Lok Sabha in 2009. A defiant Chidambaram, backed by Congress, ruled out resignation and claimed that the order “is not a setback for him but for the petitioner”.
