Uttarakhand BJP expels ex-MLA, 18 others

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday expelled Shailendra Rawat, former MLA from Kotdwar, and 18 others for six years for having worked against party nominees including former Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri during the recent Uttarakhand Assembly polls. “These persons have been expelled on the basis of the report of the disciplinary committee. More are likely to be shown the door soon,” said party president Bishen Singh Chufal, adding that the party would not have lost but for the “dirty” games played by some insiders.
