PC goes hammer and tongs at Nilekani

Within a month of praising the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) before Parliament, the Union home ministry has again picked up cudgels against Nandan Nilekani's Aadhaar project. Virtually accusing Nilekani of disregarding the 'crystal clear' directions of the government, home minister P. Chidambaram has told Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a letter that he was 'unable to comprehend' the 'reluctance' of the Nilekani-led UIDAI to allow the National Population Register (NPR) project of the home ministry to run.
