IIT Kanpur defies Sibal’s one-test plan, says will set own JEE

Rejecting union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal’s idea of “one nation, one test’’ from 2013 for entrance to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and all centrally funded technical institutes as “a decision in haste”, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, today decided to conduct its own entrance examination for 2013 — on the pattern of the traditional Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
