The united Opposition on Tuesday scuttled the Congress game plan of trying to shield Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram from deposing before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G scam. The JPC meeting convened to cut short the list of witnesses by keeping out Ministers and former Ministers, saw heated exchanges when BJP members led by Yashwant Sinha insisted on summoning Prime Minister and Chidambaram. Congress members JP Agarwal and Manish Tewari countered that former Finance and Telecom Ministers during NDA regime should also be summoned.
