Unfazed BJP throws its weight behind Sangma

The BJP on Thursday announced its support to the candidature of PA Sangma in the Presidential election. While the BJP also claimed Shiromani Akal Dal’s support to Sangma, there was a vertical split in NDA as an important ally Janata Dal(U) decided to back UPA’s nominee Pranab Mukherjee. The Shiv Sena has already announced its backing to Mukherjee.
