Trying hard to quell the perception that he is merely acting as a puppet for BJP and AIADMK, parties whose policies he staunchly opposed once, presidential hopeful PA Sangma invoked the principle of forgiveness saying that it was the essence of Christianity. In a television interview, Sangma, who has support from BJD too apart from BJP and AIADMK, admitted that he needed a miracle to defeat Pranab Mukherjee and become president.
