Celebrations on Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s 111th birth anniversary were held on Friday at the Calcutta University hall. The convention was organised by Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smarak Samiti in the presence of many dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha member and BJP Central incharge of Bengal Chandan Mitra, MPs Shahnawaz Hussain and Tapan Sikdar, BJP State president Rahul Sinha, Bijaya Chakraborty, Jugal Kishore Jaithalia and Tapan Ghosh.
