CPM feels JNU branch heat over decision to back Pranab

The ripples of the CPM Politburo’s decision to back UPA’s Pranab Mukherjee for president is being felt in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which has been the citadel of the party’s students’ wing SFI for long. Days after Prasenjit Bose — a former SFI leader and the CPM’s prominent young face in the capital — resigned from the party to protest the decision, terming it a grave error and violation of the party’s political line, many others have followed suit.
