Ours is a divided house, admits Congress

Close on the heels of their drubbing in the assembly polls, the Congress party has once again failed to strike a cord with the masses in Uttar Pradesh. With their tally of mayoral candidates dipping from three in 2007 to a duck in 2012, loss of seats in traditionally secure constituencies like Bareilly, and political compulsions at the Centre taking a toll on regional equations, the party is fast slipping into deep freeze mode.
