Delhi’s powerful turnaround

July 2012 will mark 10 years of the successful privatisation of power distribution in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Achievements of both Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Power over the past decade have been truly remarkable. In the context of power sector woes having reached crisis proportions, this success not only gives hope to the planners and policymakers that a solution exists, but also provides them with a tried-and-tested approach, and methodology that can be successfully replicated elsewhere in the country.
