Home Minister P Chidambaram’s “ice-cream cone theory” to question middle class attitude towards price rise brought him in the firing line of the Opposition on Wednesday and even prompted UPA ally NCP to take potshots at him. The Nationalist Congress Party taunted Chidambaram saying it wished that every common man in India was as prosperous as him while the BJP was blunt in telling the Minister that he had no idea about the miseries faced by common people.
