KTV gets Rs 52 crore from ‘fictitious’ firms

The DMK-owned Kalaignar TV is facing an Income Tax probe over receipt of Rs 52 crore, which it  paid back to 2G scam accused Shahid Balwa’s companies in 2010. Deposing before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G scam, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) chairman, finance secretary and top brass of the I-T on Wednesday made this startling disclosure and said that money came from ‘fictitious’ Kolkata-based companies.
