The Congress-NCP battle moved from the Centre to the state on Saturday and Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan emerged as the Sharad Pawar camp’s target. Pawar and Praful Patel arrived from Delhi and headed straight into a meeting with the NCP brass. Sources said the NCP chief had conveyed to the Congress leadership that his party was finding it increasingly difficult to function in the ruling coalition in the state due to Chavan.
