No respite for Congress as countdown to 2014 begins

If the Congress was able to surmount its current vulnerability and choose its own candidates for the presidential and vice-presidential elections — Pranab Mukherjee and Hamid Ansari — who are likely to win by sizeable margins, the events of the last few days have demonstrated that its troubles are far from over.
