The Cabinet reshuffle that put P Chidambaram in the Finance Ministry and Sushilkumar Shinde in the Home Ministry as his replacement has not impressed the BJP. “On the day the power grid failure, which put 23 states and 64 crore people in darkness, took place Power Minister Shinde was given an instant reward by the Prime Minister when he made him Home Minister. Such a reward for inefficiency is unparalleled,” BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said Wednesday.
