Chauhan’s Madhya Pradesh gives tough chase to Modi’s Gujarat on farm front

With persisting drought conditions, Narendra Modi’s Gujarat may long have peaked in farm growth leadership. The guy to watch, therefore, is Shivraj Singh Chauhan, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. Chauhan could steer the state’s farm sector growth to a spectacular 18% in 2011-12 (through on a low base of the previous year’s 2%) and is aiming at 12% average growth for the 12th Plan period.
