Gehlot in a bind over angry Muslim clergy

Branded as “Butcher of Muslims” by a vocal section of the Muslim clergy, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is in for some serious trouble. With over a dozen Muslim organisations, under Rajasthan Muslim Forum (RMF), setting a seven-day deadline for him — which ends Tuesday — to act in cases related to Gopalgarh firing, burning of a Muslim police officer at Surewal in Sawai Madhopur and anti-Muslim riots in Sarda and Sarwada in southern Rajasthan, the Chief Minister and the Congress are in a bind.
