It took less than four months for Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to traverse the distance between being the great white hope of the state to being called a 'bechara' by even the opposition Bahujan Samaj Party. Former BSP minister Naseemuddin Siddique was quite clear as to why Yadav was an object of sympathy. "What can the chief minister do when policemen and officials are not taking orders," said Siddique.
